The Folklore last week partnered with Nordstrom to host a vibrant Hispanic Heritage Month Cocktail Event in New York City alongside fellow co-host Latinas in Beauty. The evening served as both a celebration of creativity of Hispanic people and the official kickoff to Nordstrom’s Hispanic Heritage Month Pop-Up Shop series curated by The Folklore, now rolling out across the U.S.
Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to recognize and uplift the contributions of Hispanic communities. This NYC event at Nordstrom created space for independent designers to share their stories, showcase their craft, and connect with new audiences, which included editors, buyers, and influencers. By bridging heritage and innovation, these brands are transforming the fashion industry with bold, sustainable, and culturally rooted designs.
The NYC Pop-Up, which ran September 27–28, introduced shoppers at Nordstrom’s New York flagship store to standout independent brands, including The Folklore members:
DOIZPE (Mexico) – modern accessories made in Mexico with bold silhouettes and sleek craftsmanship.
YAPA New York (Bolivia) – artisanal knitwear made in Bolivia reimagined with playful textures and heritage techniques.
Lombia+Co. (Colombia) – ethical handbags handcrafted by Wayuu Indigenous artisans in Colombia.
Each brand highlighted how cultural heritage can be woven into everyday fashion while pushing design innovation forward.
Following the success of the NYC launch, the series continues with Hispanic Heritage Month pop-up events in three major cities: Miami, Houston, and Los Angeles kicking off October 10–12.
These stops will showcase more of our independent brands redefining the global fashion landscape, including:
Adorn by Alejandra (Mexico) – Contemporary accessories blending artisanal craftsmanship with modern aesthetics.
Daniella Millan Jewelry (Mexico) – Elegant, handcrafted jewelry rooted in tradition and modern artistry.
Hijas de Puka (Peru) – Vibrant, ethically made fashion honoring Indigenous heritage.
Marine + Vine (Chile) – Luxurious skincare inspired by Chilean botanicals and coastal living.
Mixed Up Clothing (USA – Latinx Founded) – Bold, multicultural children’s apparel celebrating diversity through design.
The Hispanic Heritage Month Cocktail Event in New York City was just the beginning. By kicking off Nordstrom’s Hispanic Heritage Month Pop-Up Shop Series, we set the stage for even more opportunities to spotlight creativity and connect independent brands with new audiences.
As this series continues, The Folklore and Nordstrom remain committed to creating platforms that celebrate diversity, honor heritage, and provide independent designers with lasting visibility and growth.
Stay tuned for more events, collaborations, and success stories that highlight the incredible talent shaping the future of Latin American fashion and beyond.
