On a crisp spring evening in Washington, D.C., The Folklore community came together for something special — a night that celebrated not just brands, but the bold ideas, brilliant minds, and beautiful stories behind them.

Hosted at the wonderfully curated Nīche by Nubian Hueman, the D.C. Brand Mixer brought together independent designers, creative entrepreneurs, cultural leaders, and innovators for an intimate evening of real connection. The room pulsed with vision, purpose, and shared ambition — the kind you only find when community meets intention.
From independent fashion founders to beauty entrepreneurs redefining what sustainably-driven brands means for our culture, everyone brought something unique to the table. And that was the point — The Folklore’s mixers aren’t just networking events. They’re safe spaces for creative collaboration, mutual exchange, and business-building through community.

Throughout the evening, guests shared their journeys, discussed the challenges of scaling as independent brands, and explored what it means to build legacy in a retail world that’s still catching up. Conversations flowed over curated drinks, creative ideas sparked in real time, and new relationships were born that will stretch far beyond the night.
We’re proud to support and be supported by a community as vibrant and visionary as this. A huge thank you to our hosts at Nīche, and to every person who showed up, showed love, and shared space with us.
