This month, The Folklore partnered with AFRICON to host an ATL Brand Mixer—an unforgettable gathering of designers, founders, and creative entrepreneurs from across Atlanta. Taking place prior to AFRICON's multi-day celebration of culture, business, and creativity, the evening provided a vibrant space for authentic connection and collaboration.
The event brought together a dynamic group of designers, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals from The Folklore’s community, including Amir James, Auryana, Brain Love, JEOFROI, and Rkitekt. Their presence highlighted the diversity and ambition of Atlanta’s creative ecosystem and underscored the city’s role as a cultural hub for the African diaspora.
Atlanta’s vibrant creative scene set the perfect stage. Over cocktails and conversation, guests explored shared ambitions, discussed challenges in scaling brands, and exchanged insights on storytelling and global growth. The atmosphere captured AFRICON's mission to unite the African diaspora and The Folklore’s commitment to elevating emerging global brands.

The ATL Mixer is part of The Folklore’s mission to provide resources and visibility to emerging brands around the world. In Atlanta, this mission resonated strongly. The city’s dynamic community of makers and business leaders embraced the chance to gather, share, and envision new possibilities together.
The success of the ATL Mixer demonstrates the importance of building spaces where creatives and entrepreneurs can gather, exchange ideas, and find inspiration. As The Folklore continues to host mixers in other cultural capitals, Atlanta stands as a shining example of how local communities can come together to shape the future of fashion, design, and entrepreneurship.
For those who attended, the evening was more than just a networking event — it was a reminder that community is one of the strongest tools for growth.
