Why Inola Ojen Is the “It” Designer Shoe Brand You Need in Your Wardrobe

Inola Ojén is a luxury shoe brand born out of founder Aderinola Ojengbede’s personal struggle to find stylish shoes in her size. Raised in Nigeria and now based in the United States, Ojengbede’s journey began during her teenage years when she outgrew standard sizes and often had to shop in men’s departments to find shoes that fit. After years of searching for fashionable footwear that combined comfort, elegance, and larger sizes, she decided to create her own brand, launching Inola Ojén in 2021.

Drawing inspiration from her African heritage, Aderinola designed the signature Talking Drum heel, a striking feature of her collection that pays homage to the West African ilu gangan, or “talking drum”—a communication device and symbol of personal expression.
