Inside The Folklore Plus One Community Dinner, A Night of Connection and Collaboration

An intimate gathering designed to celebrate community, foster collaboration, and ignite inspiration among creative entrepreneurs

Inside The Folklore Plus One Community Dinner, A Night of Connection and Collaboration

On a crisp evening in New York City, The Folklore’s founder and CEO Amira Rasool hosted an intimate gathering that perfectly captured the essence of community, collaboration, and creativity. Called the “Plus One Community Dinner”, the event brought together a dynamic group of The Folklore’s brand members and their specially invited “plus ones” — emerging or established brand owners eager to engage with like-minded entrepreneurs in the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle industries.

The concept of the dinner was simple yet impactful: each attendee was encouraged to bring a guest who was in the early stages of launching a brand or currently running one. The goal was to foster meaningful connections and spark collaboration, with a focus on shared experiences and mutual support.

The guest list was a who’s who of visionary entrepreneurs and among those in attendance were John E Bell of Bohn Jsell, Kahindo Mateene of KAHINDO, Pink Root ProductsMariel Meijia, Nicole Benefield and many more. Each guest brought their unique perspective to the table, enriching the evening with stories of innovation, resilience, and vision.

The intimate nature of the event allowed for deeper connections to form and conversations flowed as attendees shared insights about their entrepreneurial journeys, exchanged ideas, and explored opportunities for collaboration.

The Plus One Community Dinner was another example of the thriving community that The Folklore is continuously building in service of its core mission: to uplift and empower diverse creators through connection. By bringing together established and emerging entrepreneurs, Rasool and her team are creating a space where ideas flourish, partnerships form, and the future of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle is shaped collaboratively.
