This month, The Folklore hosted its first-ever Brand Mixer in Bogotá, Colombia, marking an exciting milestone in our mission to support independent, sustainability-driven brands across the globe. As a hub for innovation, craftsmanship, and ethical fashion, Bogotá was the perfect setting for our growing community to engage in meaningful discussions about the future of independent brands, sustainability, and global retail partnerships. Colombia is home to a rich tradition of artisanal craftsmanship, and many brands are redefining what it means to be sustainable in the modern fashion landscape.
The event brought together a dynamic group of designers , entrepreneurs, and industry professionals from The Folklore’s community, including Estefania Turbay, Carolina Mendez Jewelry, Marmolejo Leather, Zierra Leona, Leda, Matergea, Napa Shoes, Isidora Malva, Disparate, La Lupe Moda, Jean Pascal, Derive, Atelier Crump, Aldora Studio, Bambule, Sue Crew Studio, Entre Maniguas, and Petra. Their presence reflected the diversity and richness of Colombia’s sustainable fashion industry.
To foster deeper engagement, we created an interactive dynamic where each brand introduced themselves, shared their challenges, and expressed why they joined or wanted to join The Folklore. This opened the door for deeper conversations, leading to spontaneous exchanges of ideas and potential collaborations between brands.
The sense of community was palpable, with designers offering advice, sharing experiences, and even exploring ways to support each other beyond the event. Some attendees were excited not only about joining as brands but also about the possibility of offering their expertise as freelancers within The Folklore’s platform.
A major highlight was the enthusiasm around The Folklore’s membership program, with many brands eager to take advantage of the free month offered to event attendees. This exclusive perk provides them with the opportunity to experience the resources, mentorship, and retail partnerships available on our platform.
Additionally, conversations sparked potential collaborations between brands, reinforcing the value of building a strong network within the independent fashion space. The connections made at this event are just the beginning of long-term relationships that will help designers grow, scale, and thrive.
The success of the Bogotá Brand Mixer makes us even more excited about fostering deeper connections with Colombia’s fashion and design ecosystem. As we continue to expand, we look forward to hosting more events in key markets, fostering deeper collaborations, and supporting the next wave of designers shaping the future of fashion.
