MHART is a New York–based jewelry brand handcrafted by designer Michael Hartney. Since 2010, every piece has been individually made by hand using natural gemstones sourced from the earth. Most MHART gemstones are sourced from Spain, where Michael spent five years living and personally curating the brand’s selection of quartz, amethyst, and agate, along with bold pyrite from Tenerife. Each stone is ethically sourced and secured in a caged design of finely woven silver or gold chain.
Each piece is built around the natural shape of the gemstone—never forced, never symmetrical by design. The chain responds intuitively, wrapping organically to form a sculptural, architectural shell. Each link works in tension, creating a flexible yet supportive cage that balances force and form, delicacy and strength. The result is a one-of-a-kind design shaped by the stone.
